Do you think people can be perfect?

Tom was napping in his makeshift shelter when three women approached him, each offering something tantalizingly different. The first, a wealthy socialite named Veronica, promised to shower him with luxury. The second, a breathtakingly seductive woman named Selena, offered a life of passion and pleasure. The third, a soft-spoken and obedient woman named Grace, swore to be the perfect wife, catering to his every need. They all had one request: Marry one of them.

Tom rubbed his eyes, sure he was still dreaming.

"What’s going on?" he asked, looking from one woman to the next.

"Simple," Veronica said with a smirk. "Choose one of us."

"I don’t understand," Tom muttered.

"For example," Veronica continued, tossing her golden hair, "I am the richest. I can provide you with anything you desire."

Selena rolled her eyes. "Money is trivial. I am the most beautiful woman you'll ever see. Who cares about wealth when you have this?" She trailed a manicured finger down her collarbone.

Grace clasped her hands together. "Neither wealth nor beauty matters. A wife should be obedient. I’ll fulfill your every wish, Tom. Every. Single. One."

Tom stared at them, his heart pounding. "Is this a dream?"

"No," Grace whispered, smiling sweetly. "So, make your choice. Quickly."

He swallowed hard. "I wouldn’t marry any of you."

A stunned silence filled the air before the three women erupted in outrage.

"You poor thing! Are you insane?" Veronica hissed. "How can you turn us down?"

"You’ll never get another chance like this!" Selena sneered.

"I can’t choose because I have nothing to give in return," Tom said, his voice firm.

Veronica let out a cruel laugh. "What a fool."

Selena pouted. "This isn’t fun anymore."

Grace huffed. "And now none of us win the bet or get that new purse."

Tom’s stomach twisted. "Wait... a bet?"

"Oh, poor baby," Selena cooed mockingly. "You didn’t think we were serious, did you?"

"What about the wedding?" Tom asked, his voice shaking.

Veronica scoffed. "Did you really think one of us would marry you? Or maybe you pictured all of us in bed together?"

Grace gasped. "He’s a pervert! He needs to be punished!"

Selena smirked. "Agreed."

The women suddenly started shrieking, clutching their clothes as if Tom had attacked them.

"Help!" Veronica screamed. "He tried to touch us!"

Tom’s blood turned to ice. "Stop! I didn’t do anything! I’ll call the police!"

Selena sneered. "I’ll call them first and say you harassed us."

"But you kissed me!" Tom protested.

"Who’s going to believe you?" Veronica whispered. "We have video evidence."

Just as Tom’s world seemed to cave in, a voice cut through the chaos.

"I saw everything."

A young woman stepped forward from the shadows. Her hazel eyes were sharp, her stance unwavering. "Those girls are lying, but I think I can help you."

Tom's chest tightened with hope. "Who... who are you?"

She smiled. "A friend. Just follow my lead."

The next morning, the three women stormed into a police station, flanked by officers.

"This homeless guy harassed us!" Veronica wailed.

The officer on duty sighed. "One more false report, and I’m going to fine you."

"W-what?" Selena gasped. "No, it’s true! Just search for him!"

"You search for him," the officer said, leaning back in his chair. "See if he turns up."

The women huffed and stormed out.

Outside, Tom stood next to his mysterious savior. He was clean, wearing fresh clothes, and held his head high.

Selena’s jaw dropped. "Wait… you’re—"

"Rich," the woman beside Tom finished for her. "Very rich."

"You?" Veronica scoffed. "How?"

"Doesn’t matter," the woman said coolly. "But it’s funny how quick you were to target someone you thought was weak."

Grace’s face paled. "We didn’t know…"

"Oh, you didn’t?" Tom said, raising an eyebrow. "Funny, because I distinctly remember being called pathetic."

Selena gulped. "Look, handsome, I’ll make it up to you. How about a date?"

Tom smirked. "No, thanks. You said I was out of your league, remember?"

Veronica scowled. "You’ll regret this."

Tom crossed his arms. "Actually, I think it’s you who will regret it when the internet sees the footage of three desperate women fighting over a homeless guy and getting rejected."

Veronica, Selena, and Grace paled.

"Come on, girls," Selena muttered. "Let’s go."

As they slunk away, Tom turned to his new ally. "Thank you. You really saved me back there."

She grinned. "Call it a lesson. Hopefully, they won’t try to victimize anyone else."

"I hope so too." He smiled. "By the way, there’s a great spaghetti place nearby. Wanna grab a bite?"

She laughed. "I thought you’d never ask."
