I Replaced My Crush’s Bride: A Tale of Obsession and Betrayal
The sun cast a golden hue over the city, illuminating the bustling streets as wedding bells chimed in the distance. Nicole stood outside the grand cathedral, her white gown shimmering, a bouquet of lilies clutched in her hands. Her heart raced with anticipation, unaware of the storm brewing nearby.
Across the street, hidden in the shadows, stood a woman in a janitor's uniform. Her eyes, filled with a mix of longing and resentment, fixated on Nicole. This was Ruby, a woman who had harbored feelings for Frank, the groom, since their high school days. Memories of shared classes and unspoken glances flooded her mind.
As the limousine approached, Nicole turned to adjust her veil. In that fleeting moment, Ruby seized her chance. She sprinted across the street, her footsteps masked by the city's cacophony. With a swift motion, she shoved Nicole into a nearby garbage bin, locking the lid and securing it with a rope.
"Help! Let me out!" Nicole's muffled screams echoed, but the city's noise drowned her pleas.
Ruby approached the driver, handing him a note. "Deliver this to the address. It's a surprise gift for the reception."
The driver, oblivious, nodded and drove off.
Stripping off her janitor's uniform, Ruby revealed a pristine wedding dress underneath. She picked up the discarded bouquet, took a deep breath, and walked into the cathedral.
Inside, guests turned, their faces lighting up as they saw the 'bride' enter. Frank, standing at the altar, smiled nervously. As Ruby approached, he whispered, "You look... different."
Ruby leaned in, her voice sultry, "Love changes us."
The ceremony commenced. When asked, "Do you, Miss Walker, take Frank as your husband?" Ruby paused.
"No, I do not," she declared, turning to the congregation. "Because I'm not Nicole."
Gasps filled the room.
"I'm Ruby. And Frank, I've loved you since high school. I couldn't let you marry someone else."
Frank stepped back, shock evident. "Where's Nicole?"
"Safe. For now."
Suddenly, the cathedral doors burst open. Nicole, disheveled and furious, stormed in.
"Security! Arrest her!" she shouted, pointing at Ruby.
As officers approached, Ruby looked at Frank one last time. "I did it for love."
